Semarkalre (pronounced seh-marr-CALL-ray) is an itinerant Katerran jurist. Well-regarded as an expert in the ancient and often byzantine legal codes of Viridia, Dalbanu, and her native Pasuhalta & Kamman, she is widely sought by governors and ensi alike to arbitrate complex disputes. As she travels throughout Thadria and the lands east of the Chaska Sea Semarkalre brings with her an immense library of old tomes, carried by multiple enchanted wagons. As much as possible she prefers to make her journeys without a large entourage, often eschewing more than the minimal number of guards and caravaneers, as she claims too many people in close proximity make it hard to focus on her own thoughts.
