Flamevine is a type of flowering plant found throughout the Aban Steppe and in particular in more arid stretches of the region. Able to thrive even in environments with relatively little water, a single plant can easily expand to cover many acres. While its large red and orange flowers are certainly beautiful, they are dangerous too, for at the end summer each vine drops its petals, at which point they spontaneously erupt in fire. This is a necessary part of its reproductive cycle - only through extreme heat can its seeds germinate.

Flamevines are a major source of djes, the massive wildfires that occasionally sweep the Aban.
