The Garhhan (pronounced GARH-hahn) are the descendants of Pelesetian seafarers who settled in the Sahelia Cays, particularly around Duonvoye. Once part of the now-disbanded Ataegina Fleet, following a series of disasters in the Y9920s the survivors of the fleet made landfall in the Cays. While some set off to sea once their repairs were complete, others remained behind, returning once more to life on solid land.

Culture

Since their arrival in the Sahelia Cays the Garhhan have largely assimilated into the existing populations there, peoples of primarily Kea Rachan and Oscan origin. Most now make their livings as sailors, pastoralists, or tortoise farmers. They have maintained a number of distinct cultural practices of their own, however. The names of the Garhhan continue to show their Akrotiri origins, for example, as do their traditions of democratically electing their own leaders and removing them from their roles freely.
