Painted tundra by a painted mind, all clad in hues of red and yellow.

The Roaring Steppe is a region in northern Talgazan, located between the Wurihian Forest and Runewith Mountains to the south and the Northern Wall to the north. The cold, wind-swept steppe is remarkably barren and featureless, an expanse of snow and grassland stretching to the horizon. Herds of megafauna wander the steppe, particularly mammoths, giant elk, and bison, followed and hunted by the various tribes of Talgazan.

The small community of Divilgarn is the only permanent settlement in the Roaring Steppe. Nomadic groups that travel through the steppe usually carry their hide tents with them in order to rapidly set up shelters when the freezing winds and snow that characterize the region appear with little warning.

Among the people of Talgazan, there is some disagreement as to the origin of the Roaring Steppe's name. Some say the name refers to the roars of predatory megafauna like sabertooth cats that can carry for miles, while others claim it comes from the sounds of the steppe's fierce winds.
