The Nests are an archipelago within the Wounds consisting of three large volcanic islands and a number of smaller islets. They are notable for being the breeding grounds of the Ha-Kolawa, the only place where the pterosaurs will lay their eggs.
Geography
Geographically, the Nests are imposing tropical mountainous islands, with peaks rising far above the surrounding seas. This craggy landscape has proven quite inhospitable, and there are no permanent settlements within the archipelago, despite many past attempts by Keleta-Ru and Fanakara tribes to establish villages along their shorelines. The protectiveness and territorial behavior of the nesting Ha-Kolawa has certainly not made these endeavors any easier.
The Nests are roughly 300 miles north of the Protectors and 400 miles southeast of the Old Twins.
History
Since Y9266* the Shieldbound have regularly patrolled the Na-Gaesa Ocean around the Nests to ensure no demons spreading outwards from the Old Twins reach the Ha-Kolawa breeding grounds. Until recently this was a mere precaution, but within the last decade more and more of the extraplanar monsters have made it to the surrounding islets within the time of the demon-season.
