Tethys (pronounced TEH-this) is a Philiraki storm giant hermit who lives on an island within the Acapetra Islands, to the northwest of the settlement of Arkesine. She resides in a half-flooded seaside cave on the island, leaving only to gather food and firewood. Tethys is regularly visited by some of the giant princes of the region who seek out her knowledge - somehow, without ever stepping foot off her island, Tethys manages to always be extremely well informed about the ongoing events in the wider world. She rarely provides her information without compensation, however, though what she requests in return is often unusual or ambiguous to the point of being nonsensical. What she does with these payments is unknown.
