The Sea of Khoros (pronounced CORE-os) is a major body of water between the Chaska Sea and the Invelaust Ocean. The sea is well known both for the the large storms that form over its waters and for the pirates that ply its waves.

Inhabitants

A number of nations have grown around the Sea of Khoros, most notably the tengu on their island homeland. To the east, the Hellean nations of the Halakran League and Ephardia, as well as the giants of the Philiraki Peninsula, are both tied to the sea as well.

There are few major underwater settlements in the Sea of Khoros - those that do exist are mostly on the eastern side of the sea, near where it meets the waters of the Chaska.

Geography

The Sea of Khoros is rather poorly and loosely defined. According to most cartographers and navigators, the Khoros is bounded in the east by the Korymbos island of Nivaria, in the north by the Alkyonides Sea, in the west by the Coldwind Islands, and in the south by either Meklaw or the coast of the Wastes of Yasdzah.

Trade and piracy

Piracy is rampant on the Sea of Khoros, mostly targeting trade around Hellea, Korymbos, and Ashnan. Many of these pirates make port in the coastal cities of Meklaw, whose inhabitants are all too willing to turn a blind eye to these bandits of the waves. Many Meklovian tengu become pirates themselves.
