Emperor Ghalarix (pronounced guh-LAHR-icks) is an awakened vulture that lives near Yarma. He has reached an arrangement with several pastoralists around the city, in which he scouts for any predators that may threaten livestock in exchange for food and language learning lessons.
Emperor Ghalarix gave himself his own name, and he does not seem fully aware of its meaning. He seems to believe "Emperor" to be a reasonable first name rather than a title, and often insists people refer to him as such, as to him it is less formal than using his surname.
