House Meshid (pronounced mesh-EED) is a Viridian senatorial family. As the dominant political force in the southern city of Kanesh, they are one of the most influential senatorial families in the province of Herren. While they are not Sharrarde themselves - the ancestors of the house were Viridian settlers from northern Ertan - they have historically cultivated a close relationship with the people living around the mouth of the river, frequently intervening in times of disputes between the Sharrarde villages and the legions based in Orhassu to the east. In return the Sharrarde purchase many of their necessary goods from Meshid-affiliated merchants and aid in protecting maritime traffic along the river to Kanesh, both of which have helped the house reinforce their status.
