The Sahelia Cays (pronounced sah-HELL-ee-ah) are an archipelago near the western coast of the Kilche Sea. These dry, low-lying islands are some of the most populated in the Kilche, home to the cities of Ekste, Duonvoye, and other smaller communities scattered along the the seashore. Most of its inhabitants live as off the sea or by tending small herds, as the Cays are too arid to support agriculture.
A number of disparate groups have settled in the Sahelia Cays. Culturally its residents are the most similar to those of the Blacksand Archipelago to the west, connected far more to the other island-dwellers across the sea than to the tribes who live in the deserts to the nearby eastern coast. Most peoples in the Cays are of Kea Rachan or Oscan origin, but also include new arrivals like the Garhhan.
A major reef by the same name lies amongst the archipelago.
