Thiess of Gabras (pronounced THEE-ess of gab-RAHS) is a werewolf and champion of Harinna. He is the founder and leader of the Order of the Sun and Moon, a group of werecreatures devoted to the Indomitable Sun.
Originally hailing from the city of Gabras within Pasuhalta & Kamman, back when the United Provinces were still part of Viridia, Thiess became afflicted with lycanthropy at a young age. Despite his best attempts to control his curse, one full moon he lost control and ran amok through the city, leaving a path of death in his wake. On the run from the law with a bounty on his head, and distraught from the pain he had caused, Thiess turned to Harinna seeking redemption for his crimes.
Thiess disappeared for a number of years, eventually reemerging calling himself the "Hound of Harinna". Recruiting other werecreatures from across Thadria and the eastern coast of the Chaska Sea, Thiess formed his new group of highly capable misfits into the Order of Sun and Moon, dedicated to bringing themselves and other werecreatures to absolution.
Though the Order primarily seeks to stop werecreatures from posing a threat to non-lycanthropes, Thiess has also taken his devotion to Harinna in another, more extreme direction. For the last two hundred years, Thiess has regularly ventured into the outer planes to directly combat demons and other outsiders and disrupt the evil of their realms. In doing so, Thiess seeks to release souls from their machinations and violence, so that they may go on to redeem themselves.
The extremely direct means of Thiess have not gone unquestioned by the church of Harinna. Some clergy and other Harinnan champions have accused Thiess of possessing and carrying out borderline heretical beliefs and actions, especially emphasizing his aggressiveness, willingness to turn to violence as a first resort, and acceptance of criminals without punishment.
When not transformed into a werewolf, Thiess appears as a rather unassuming aged elven man, with long graying hair and kind eyes set in an otherwise stony and impassive face. Unlike most other champions of Harinna, Thiess does not carrry a longsword or decorate his clothing with sun motifs. As a werewolf, Thiess has silvery, almost white fur.
