Soft Paws is a Var-Tchukka gnoll scout and mercenary. Though raised in a clan that lived in the foothills of the Asvan Mountains of Amshan, at some point in the past he headed north to Abanir where he has spent most of his adult life, finding employment in caravans or as a sell-sword. He rarely keeps any work for long, however, as despite long living outside Var-Tchukka tribes Soft Paws still retains the gnoll beliefs regarding personal property, or lack thereof, and has a habit of confiscating items from traders or his wards when he believes he could make better use of them.
In Y9976* a group of adventurers, seeking allies and caravan members for a journey along the Hundred Days Road to Rovakhad, encountered Soft Paws in Narbanden and recruited him for his expertise as a forward scout. He accompanied them to their final destination, after which he returned to the southern steppe.
