The Symbran goose (pronounced SIM-bran) is a type of black- and white-feathered goose bred specifically for use as guard animals. Originally created to protect the estates of senatorial families near Symbra, the aggressiveness of the Symbran goose has led to their widespread use and popularity amongst the upper classes throughout Viridia.
Due to their frizzled feathers, Symbran geese cannot fly, and therefore can be easily kept within an enclosure. They are commonly trained to honk loudly upon seeing or hearing an intruder, and often to pursue them as well, using their bites and wings to great effect.
