Mehasart (pronounced meh-hah-SART) is the northernmost city in Tamkaranu and, by both population and physical dimensions, the smallest major city in the nation. Located in a natural harbor along the coast of the Chaska Sea, for centuries Mehasart was one of the strongest city-states of the region, easily able to conquer and control surrounding communities as far south as the River Arrud and as far west as the Kurzag Mountains through the forces of its armies and diplomats. It was heavily damaged and depopulated in the Eastern Crusade, however, to such a degree that a millennium and a half later the city's population is still less than half of its peak.
