It is the only major settlement in the region where the majority of its inhabitants are of [[Khapesh|Khapeshan]] descent, though they have been joined over the centuries by lizardfolk and [[dwarf|dwarves]] as well. Like with [[Hewa]] far to the north, the people of Tantamani still largely consider themselves Khapeshan, even though the kingdom has had no meaningful presence so far south in many centuries.
