While it lies within territory claimed and administered by Great House [[Thevrumines]], most of the population of Sherakanda hails from one of several Thevrumines [[human]] and [[elf|elven]] subject tribes. Great House [[Alchumena]] regularly visits the settlement as well, with one of their gathering places at which their nomadic caravans congregate located just to the north.

Roughly equidistant from the [[Cracked Fangs]] to the north and the [[Gray River]] to the east, Great House Thevrumines views Sherakanda as strategically important to maintaining their control over eastern Talmithe, as from the elevated bluff upon which the town is built they have excellent sight lines for miles over the surrounding landscape.
