The '''Lionwatch''' is an elite unit within the military of [[Oscan]]. Once the royal guards of Oscan monarchs, after the rise of the undead hordes in the kingdom in {{Year|6940}} and the disappearance of the [[Verore|king]] the Lionwatch shifted their focus to the defense of [[Tasha]], the largest city left in the control of the living. A small fraction of their prior strength and size, today only a handful of the Lionwatch remain. Their attempts to recruit and train new members have been stymied greatly by their refusal to lower their standards even in the face of their current predicament, as well as their focus on the more immediate concerns of shoring up Tasha's barriers against the undead.

Though the Lionwatch follow the orders of [[Tarchon Lasa]], an old Oscan general, they consider their true leader to still be Verore, the last ruler of the kingdom who disappeared decades ago. In prior years they sent out expeditions to search for the missing monarch, but after every attempt for two decades turned up nothing they halted their efforts. Still, some amongst the few remaining of the Lionwatch continue to hold out hope.
