Despite its relative isolation in the arid uplands of the interior between [[River Qes]] and the [[Streko River]], Kotharat is nonetheless an important stop for merchants traveling between the [[Arrajan Wilds]] in the south and [[Dalbanu]] in the north. It serves as a place place where they can rest, resupply, and possibly even sell some of their wares to the ghost-dragon [[The One Whose Nine Wings Are Hidden]], an enigmatic figure whose banishment from the [[Dragon Scars]] led them to settle in a lair not far outside the city.
