The Ixranai ICKS-rah-nye are an Abaniri tribe that straddles the line between targai and gatai. The tribe seasonally leaves their stronghold, the fortified city of Shar Osk in the central Aban Steppe, in large numbers to hunt and raid, leaving only enough behind to form a small garrison in the summer months, before returning once more as the winter descends. They are traditionally quite warlike and protective of their territory against the encroachment by other groups of targai. While they continue to keep some herds of horses, today they support themselves in large part through demanding tribute from merchants traveling the Hundred Days Road in exchange for assurances of safe passage.

The Ixranai are majority human, but also count many orcs and half-orcs amongst their number.
