Eerily quiet decaying villages with no remaining inhabitants line the shores of the Gray River. The sole population center that remains is [[Port Anzu]], at the mouth of the river, but even then it survives only as a small fortified outpost of no more than several hundred people.

In Talmithe, the witch-warriors of the [[Thevrumines]] send scouting expeditions to the Gray River on occasion, yet broadly remain far away, lest they attract the attention of the wandering hordes of undead that sometimes venture close to the river.
