Since their arrival in the Sahelia Cays the Garhhan have largely assimilated into the existing populations there, peoples of primarily [[Kea Racha|Kea Rachan]] and [[Oscan]] origin. Most now make their livings as sailors, pastoralists, or tortoise farmers. They have maintained a number of distinct cultural practices of their own, however. The names of the Garhhan continue to show their [[Akrotirian Isles|Akrotiri]] origins, for example, as do their traditions of democratically electing their own leaders and removing them from their roles freely.
