The legions of the Dominion maintain a large presence around Segesta to counter the influence of the breakaway [[orc|orcs]] of [[Hkarzda]] to the south and east - though little conflict has taken place there since the beginning of the rebellion, in its early days several orcish clans briefly took control of the settlement before retreating when reinforcements to the legion arrived from [[Gadir]]. Viridian administrators consider the presence of the army in Segesta to be legally unquestionable, which is not the case with sending them into Hkarzda, and as such it has become an important symbol that Viridia has not abandoned the province of Talliastu.
