Each quickly turned to using the forces still loyal to them to carve new realms out of the only briefly united [[Hellea|peninsula]], becoming the diadochi.

In most of Hellea, these successors, or diadochi states, squabbled amongst themselves, nearly all eventually collapsing to internal strife and divisions. The sole exception was in [[Iaramnae]], where an alliance between three of the diadochi led to a stable enough government that it has been preserved to the modern day.
