House Isauricus (pronounced eye-SORE-ih-cus) is an influential Viridian senatorial family. The family functionally controls the city of Odrysai, located on the northern coast of the Bay of Ertan, and wields great influence in the senate as kingmakers. The family does not align itself with any faction in the senate, and also maintains extensive connections other families that do the same. Due in large part to this status, the support of House Isauricus is always hotly contested in the senate's most heated debates and votes.
Despite their public image as stoic and impassive, internally House Isauricus is in crisis. Myrrhina and Trebatia Isauricus, the two daughters and presumptive heirs of house head Falches Isauricus, fled Viridia in Y9966* while on a diplomatic mission to the Halakran port of Harpasus. Now captains within the West Horizon Fleet of the Peleset Union, neither sister has expressed any desire to return to their previous lives. Nevertheless, Falches continues to try to send his pleas to them, unwilling to allow the family to be represented in the senate by their brother Rogatus Isauricus, the only other possible heir. Falches sees his son as something of a disappointment, and for his part Rogatus would much rather continue training as a champion to Koroibos than sit in the halls of high society.
House Isauricus' family crest depicts a serpent coiling around the mast of a galley.
